A COLLECTION OF CREATIVE I DESIGNED BETWEEN 2020-2023
Rising Tide Interactive’s Brand Evolution
Where it started
When I joined the company as a Graphic Designer, the below was the extent of their visual brand. In 2015, started to advocate for a brand refresh and logo redesign to move away from the heavy shadows, dark colors, and generic typeface.
Directing the logo and website redesign
After the 2016 elections, the company was ready to move forward with a brand refresh and website redesign. I advocated for a new logo and brand that would feel more current, would be more usable across platforms, and would better represent the digital savvy of the company. I worked as the project lead with a skilled web design firm on creative direction and goals for the project.
Updating the logo
I provided the direction we wanted to move toward on the updated logo: fonts that feel more modern & smart, less dull color palette, and a more balanced size relationship between the swoop icon and the text. The web design firm provided us with several rounds of options, and I was responsible for providing feedback and making the final logo decision. Below you can see the original logo, some of the proposed logos, and the final logo. The deciding factors for me included readability on small screens, the swoop icon to text ratio and relationship, and contrast in type.
Updating the website
Throughout website redesign process, I was responsible for determining initial recommendations and feedback, facilitating conversations with the company’s senior leadership team to gather opinions, align on goals, and gain consensus, and then clearly providing the creative direction to the web design firm. During this process, I researched and advocated for incorporating video onto the site rather than static only, which resulted in a more dynamic website that has stood up visually for 5 years.
Growing and developing the brand
Once we had a finalized brand package, the next few years were spent pushing company design work to stand out in a crowded field and look polished and professional. Most recently the usage of brand has been utilizing the bright blue shades of the brand, embracing color blocks, incorporating modern gradient usage and rounded edges to mimic current UI trends, and overlapping elements. Below you’ll find some examples of social graphics and business development materials from this period of time.

Preparing graphics in bulk
Below is an example of how I prepared for 2022 election night results including the photoshop file I used to keep all the graphics organized as well as a few of the graphics at full size. I created a main template to use to post about clients who won their campaigns, and then built out additional colorways so there would be variety in the posts to catch more attention.
